The Vikings extend their lead with a field goal to make it Minnesota needs to start capitalizing on the turnovers with touchdowns instead of field goals if they want to get a more comfortable lead.

Their defense is doing a good job of forcing turnovers, but the Vikings are struggling to make the most of them. The Saints defense doing a good job of stopping the Vikings in the red zone. This is Minnesota’s fourth trip to the red zone and the third time they have to settle for a field goal try.

The Vikings recover in the red zone. This drive for the Saints is completely different than their last two drives, converting multiple first downs as they march towards the end zone. This was the big play the Saints needed to alter the trajectory of the game. Now the offense needs to make something happen with the turnover and good field position. Another three-and-out for the Saints, this time it came from a third down sack on Dalton. The Saints are struggling to hold off the Vikings defense.

The Saints defense needed to make a statement on this third and long and they do so with a sack on Cousins. This could be a key momentum changer for the Saints, who struggle early on in games.
