Best experience re-climbing my first mountain. Soooo first circle and embodies where and what I am now. I’m surprised this is viewed as kid and dog friendly with the amount of broken, jagged glass around, especially at the bottom. It’s a quick hike with a beautiful view, but it also has drop off points and the trails on the mountain don’t appear maintained. The beginning incline part was hard.

Then the rest will be easy and enjoyable. Beautiful views. An all-around great hike. Easy trail went up the east side and down the west side. A beautiful day to hike with moderate traffic and lots of families with kids and dogs. Three major areas to stop and rest. This trail is infested with arrogant dog owners who bring their dogs off-leash.

I am not talking about pomerians or maltese. I am talking about great danes, dogo argentinos, pitbulls. Today, I almost got attacked by a pitbull off-leash. I am an animal lover. I love animals. But, why is it okay for people to think that they can bring their huge dogs off-leash? The directions are pretty clear. There are a couple ways up and down, some that look easier than others. Ez hike, do not do it if wet. Last 25 feet at top are super sketchy.

Everyone is correct about the reviews, just the red ants have wings…. This is not a drill!!! They have wings yall. Red Ants at the top watch out!! But love in the incline. Nice trial but a little steep and slippery. Who can give anything less than 5 stars on a natural resource, like you can judge Mother Nature. Lone mountain is awesome, no matter what anyone else says.

Nice little hike. Kind of steep. The trail is easy to lose on the way up so I ended up just trying to pick through the easy spots. Trail markers are easier to see coming back down. It’s kind of slippery on the way down too. I always forget how frustrating this trail can be. Most of the trail is just a general direction. While you can see the trail markers going down, it’s hard to see them going up.

Many people end up off trail and on to more difficult routes. Going down is tricky because of the steep gravel. Excellent view payoff for such a short hike. A couple of notes: 1 For dog owners, the rocks on this trail can be quite rough and jagged.

I was able to do it fine with my dog, but we picked around a lot to find the best route for her paws, and I did pick her up in a few places. There were plenty of dogs on the trail, but just something to be aware of.

The established trail is around the other side. Good quick hike in the neighborhood. We had not done this iconic hike and by the recommendation of my non-hiking orientated son, we did it.

We planned on hitting the peak at sunset. We should have left 30 minutes earlier than planned but it was still impressive. It was steep and rocky. We all made it in about 35 minutes to the top from the parking lot. Even our Doodle loved it. I’ll be back to this one. Route to the mountain from the parking lot is a bit nonsensical, but other than that, a solid hike. Sensational but difficult ascent!

Will definitely return for the workout and awesome views. Third time up, 1st time solo for the sunrise. Wear good trail shoes. Gorgeous views of the valley, mountain ranges and great for a sunrise and sunset hike. This trail is definitely a must.

The main trail is easy to follow. The summit of Lone Mountain provides beautiful views in all directions. No summit registration or cairn exists. Proceed through the Park, follow the sidewalk or hike up and over to the non-landscaped area.
